Mims’ confusion over M27 motorway funding?

At the Kings Community Church Hustings last night, Eastleigh Conservative PPC Mims Davies said that £2.5m was going to be spent upgrading junction 7 of the M27, yet in her recently circulated leaflet with a photo of her standing next to a junction 7 signpost, she said that she had secured funding for junction 9.  She went on to say in her literature that the work would be done in the next 12 months, but also states that it will not be started until 2018.  If that is the case, the work will be completed in five months; possible, but a very tight deadline and to which motorway junction is she referring to? Highways England state that they are planning a major scheme at junction 8, yes, that’s right, junction 8!  Click here to learn more…

Could Mims Davies be referring to Junction 6 or even the M3? Great to feel she’s got a real feel for local Issues!

I find it really worrying that the person who was the MP for Eastleigh from 2015 to 2017 and is a current PPC, doesn’t seem to understand how Government agencies interlink in her constituency. Has she been speaking to the National Infrastructure Commission about south coast traffic congestion? I don’t see any evidence of it. Where is the Green Paper on Transport infrastructure?
